RuPay, a financial services and payment service system launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has collaborated with JCB International for the second phase of its limited-time special cashback offer scheme for all RuPay JCB debit and credit cardholders.
Under the scheme, all RuPay JCB debit and credit cardholders will receive 40% cashback on in-store purchases in Thailand, Singapore and Bahrain. The in-store purchase refers to a face-to-face point of sale transaction made at a merchant location.
JCB International is the international operations subsidiary of the Japanese international payment brand JCB.
As per the terms and conditions of the offer, the maximum cashback amount per transaction will be INR3,000, with an overall cap of INR15,000 per card during the offer period. The offer is valid from 29 December 2022 to 31 March 2023.
NPCI chief of products Kunal Kalawatia said: “We are happy to announce the second phase of our cashback offer scheme for all RuPay JCB Credit and Debit Cardholders.
“After launching the first phase of this offer and receiving positive feedback on it, we now want to expand the offering to more geographies so that an extended pool of Indian travellers can benefit from lucrative cashbacks. During the New Year season, Thailand, Singapore, and Bahrain typically see an influx of Indian tourists.”
The initial phase of the cashback programme was launched on 1 October 2022.
As part of the scheme, RuPay JCB debit and credit cardholders will receive the same cashback benefits for using their cards to make in-store transactions in Australia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) until 31 December 2022.
