DIGIPASS PLUS: Authentication Services

VASCO Data Security has a long history of deploying authentication services. Fifteen years ago, the first DIGIPASS e-Signature and authentication solution was implemented with ten different applications. This was the first client-based authentication service that shared multiple server applications.

With the current technology, we have worldwide authentication Service implementations. We can consider two models as base:

• Client-based authentication services
• Server-based authentication services

Client-based authentication services

With client-based authentication services and products, users store different authentication application credentials on their own devices including a pc, mobile phone and pda.

Server-based authentication services

With server-based authentication services and products users log into an authentication server. This authentication server is protected with a one-time password (software or hardware).

When connected and authenticated to the authentication server, the user is redirected to specific applications based on the user’s credentials.
