Societe Generale (SocGen) has teamed up with European payment services firm Lemonway to provide payment services to corporates in Western Europe, introducing the B2B marketplaces.

The partnership will leverage Lemonway’s expertise in managing third-party payments services, together with the security of Societe Generale services in cash management.

It is expected to address the needs of corporates in the B2B marketplace sector.

SocGen and Lemonway will implement the partnership in eight European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, and Switzerland.

Societe Generale global transaction and payment services head Alexandre Maymat said: “Societe Generale is proud to announce this commercial partnership with Lemonway, whose expertise and tailored approach perfectly fits our DNA.

“This partnership enables us to support our clients in their digital transformation, offering ever more complete and innovative payment services, in line with the specific needs of large corporates for their B2B marketplaces.

“It illustrates Societe Generale’s long-standing cooperative approach with fintech companies to provide innovative solutions for our clients.”

According to the French lender, large corporates are advancing their digital transformation, which has become important for their clients and ensuring B2B revenue growth.

By launching a B2B marketplace, the corporates aim to improve the payment experience, support internationalisation, create value, and enhance commercialisation and distribution.

In partnership with Lemonway, the French lender will add value and support their clients in their digital transformation and complement Lemonway’s e-commerce solutions.

Lemonway will provide modular and end-to-end solutions, including payment and other strategic services and strengthen its position with large corporates in Western Europe.

Lemonway chief executive officer Antoine Orsini said: “Lemonway is proud to partner with a world-class bank such as Societe Generale.

“Its large account service experience combined with our third-party payment expertise precisely meets the expectations of this fast-growing market.

“Together we offer B2B marketplaces a secure, scalable, and compliant payment experience that enables our customers to accelerate their growth.”
