mBlox Sender-Pays Data enables businesses to provide content to consumers with the guarantee that they will not incur any data costs for downloading to a mobile phone.

This solution alleviates any consumer worry that extra costs would occur, by allowing the content pricing to be fully inclusive of all charges. With this mBlox service, the sender pays for the data transfer, providing a true “zero data charge” for the consumer.

By enabling content providers to pay for the download charges, rich media applications such as video and games can be delivered at all-inclusive prices without any bill shock risk to the end-user. The mBlox Sender-Pays Data product is currently on trial only in the UK, across multiple UK operators covering more than 75% of the market.

How mBlox Sender-Pays Data works

This solution does not require any changes to the content provider’s site. A simple set-up process allows mobile internet sites to be redirected via the mBlox platform which ensures “zero data charge” to the consumer. It is an easy and quick configuration process. Full reporting and analytics are supported by the mBlox platform to allow content providers to monitor usage of their data costs.

A ‘zero data charge’ consumer logo has been developed to identify content that utilises the Sender Pays Data solution, to enable clear consumer communication.
