Yorkshire Bank has announced the launch of Signature Current Account, a new account to help busy professionals manage their finances.

The account, which can be linked to an interest savings account or to an offset mortgage, comes with a range of lifestyle benefits, said Yorkshire Bank.

The Signature Current Account is available to customers for a monthly fee of GBP10. It comes with a range of insurance benefits worth nearly GBP400 a year, offering customers high quality, comprehensive cover and good value for money without having to source individual providers, according to Yorkshire Bank.

The bank added that the benefits of this new account include: annual worldwide family travel insurance; mobile phone and gadget cover; UK breakdown cover, including home assistance; and full ID theft insurance.

The Signature Current Account can also help customers maximize interest by sweeping surplus credit from their account into a linked Signature Savings Account, which offers a rate of 5.30% including a 0.75% bonus guaranteed until September 30, 2009, said Yorkshire Bank.

The Signature Current Account is available to new and existing customers of Clydesdale Bank.

Gary Lumby, director of retail at Yorkshire Bank, said: The Signature Savings Account allows customers to make their money work harder for them. By automatically sweeping surplus balance from their current account, Signature customers can ensure their cash accrues the higher interest of the linked savings account – helping them make the most of their hard earned cash.
