The new lending group will be led by John McKinnon, who has been brought in as chairman of the group. He joins Wintrust after more than 40 years with JP Morgan Chase. He will lead a group of commercial bankers.

Paul Carlisle will be joining the team as executive vice president after 26 years with JP Morgan Chase. He will provide strategic day-to-day leadership for the Chicago lending group.

Edward Wehmer, president and CEO of Wintrust, said: “The time was right to fill the void of homegrown banks in Chicago. Wintrust has been built upon Midwestern values and client service and we are ready and well poised to bring old fashioned banking to Chicago’s commercial sector.”
