Wincor Nixdorf, a provider of IT solutions and services to retailers and retail banking, has renewed self-service technology contract with German-based Commerzbank.

By the end of the year, Wincor Nixdorf will install 770 transaction terminals and replace around 800 ATMs in branches of the Commerzbank.

In addition to installing the systems, Wincor Nixdorf will also be providing IT services for a good portion of the systems’ lifecycles – from rollout management to maintenance and repair services.

Around 600 of the total volume of some 1,600 systems were already installed as of the end of March 2010.

Joachim Butterweck, who heads up the payment transactions unit at Commerzbank, said: “Over the course of the tender, Wincor Nixdorf convinced us of the advantages of its solution, which apply over the whole product lifecycle. The functionality and flexibility of the systems is particularly noteworthy.”

Commerzbank is provider of financial service to private and corporate customers.
