ViVOtech, a provider of contactless and mobile payment systems, has selected Voltage Security's end-to-end encryption point-of-sales (POS) solution in its ViVOpay line contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) payment terminals, to strengthen security with a minimum of administrative hassle.

In addition, ViVOtech joined the Voltage SecureData Open License program that lowers the barrier to implementing end-to-end encryption on POS devices, Electronic Cash Registers, mobile payment devices and eCommerce Payment platforms.

By using Voltage SecureData, Voltage SecureData solutions will offer merchants with a wider set of data protection solutions, incorporating end-to-end encryption and tokenization, and helps in meeting the recently published Visa best practices as well as reduces the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) audit scope.

ViVOtech payment solutions are powered by Voltage’s Format-Preserving Encryption and Voltage Identity-Based Encryption technologies, which simplify the deployment and administration of encryption and key management.

The advantage of the solutions include: cardholder data will be encrypted immediately at point of capture and remains protected end-to-end until card hand-off.

Voltage Security vice president of business development Doug Dwyre said that at Voltage our goal is to secure the payment stream across all device implementations, including contactless, mobile and other next generation solutions.

“Our hardware independent technology allows us to work in an easy, seamless way that provides maximum-strength security with a minimum of administrative hassle,” Dwyre said.
