Virginia Commerce Bank (VCB) has appointed Gregory Oxley as senior vice president of community banking and Donald Sweeney as senior vice president of commercial lending.

In his new role, Mr Oxley will cover McLean, Tysons and Vienna markets. Prior to joining VCB, he directed business development in Northern Virginia as an executive vice president for Congressional Bank, where he also served as general counsel.

Before beginning his banking career, Mr Oxley practiced law for several years and subsequently was president and COO of a title company.

Mr Sweeney will focus on the Alexandria and Arlington markets. During his 16 years’ experience in commercial banking, he served 12 years in the DC Metro area, most recently with BB&T.
