Urban Trust Bank, which made its debut in Washington in 2006, has opened its first branch in a Washington-area Wal-Mart store.

The new Urban Trust Bank (UTB) is located in the Landover Hills, Maryland. In addition to the two DC area branches, UTB has a presence in Florida with its original location and six new branches in Orlando and Tampa Wal-Marts.

Henry Hall, Urban Trust Bank’s vice president for in-store banking, said: This opening in a Prince George’s County, Maryland Wal-Mart store has significant meaning for us. It clearly supports our national business expansion strategy and solidifies our partnership with Wal-Mart, whose customers and employees can benefit from our services. And it means we’ve taken another step to fulfill our mission to help people in diverse urban communities become homeowners, entrepreneurs or just better provide for themselves and their families.
