New York-based financial services firm Tompkins Financial has selected Talend’s open source data management solutions to streamline its data processes.

Talend said that its platform will improve the quality and reduce Tompkins Financial’s cost of processing and managing customer and corporate data by automating its data management processes.

Tompkins Financial will use Talend Integration Suite and Talend Data Quality to automatically convert financial data that is not viable in its original state into records that are ideal for reporting.

Tompkins Financial IT systems vice president Glenn Cobb said that the solutions presented by Talend offer the data integration and data cleansing capabilities required to handle the immense amount of financial and customer data we process on a daily basis.

“In one case, prior to adopting Talend, our team was using manual conversions for the company’s 10-K reporting, which took up to 10 hours per month to complete. By using the Talend data management platform we were able to quickly automate the process, reducing the production time to a matter of minutes and eliminating a lot of inefficiencies, unnecessary costs and potential errors,” Cobb said.
