Capital, an investment and merchant banking firm, and Boston Corporate Finance, a technology-focused investment bank, have announced their merger.

The combination creates a pre-eminent independent investment banking firm, which will operate under the Capital name from offices in New York, Boston and Atlanta, and include all of the current partners of and BCF.

Upon completion of the merger, Jim Grien was appointed as president of Capital, and Murray Beach and Brad Adams were named as managing directors. Other managing directors of the firm include Michael Goldman, Alex Mammen, Jerome Romano, Paul Smolevitz and Greg Robertson, who also serves as chairman.

Mr Grien said: We’re proud of our achievements at Capital and are confident that the combined resources, knowledge and relationships of our organization will substantially expand our capabilities on behalf of our global client base.
