Temasek Holdings, a Singapore-based investment firm, has appointed Hsieh Fu Hua as executive director and president, and Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara as head of portfolio management.

Mr Hua will take on a full-time role with effect from August 1, 2010 and Mr Sandrasegara will join Temasek with effect from October 18, 2010.

Mr Hua joined the Temasek board on February 1, 2010, and was appointed special advisor to the CEO, Ho Ching. In his new role as executive director and president, Mr Hua will work closely with Ms Ching and the Temasek leadership team, to build a strong institution for the long term, including talent development and succession planning at Temasek.

Mr Hua was previously the CEO and a non-independent director of Singapore Exchange (SGX) from March 2003 to November 2009. Prior to his role at the SGX, he built his career in merchant banking and capital markets in Asia, spanning more than 35 years. He had been the managing partner of PrimePartners, a corporate advisory firm based in Singapore which he co-founded, and group managing director of BNP Prime Peregrine Group in Hong Kong , the joint venture Asian investment banking arm of BNP founded by PrimePartners. Prior to forming PrimePartners in 1993, he was CEO of Morgan Grenfell Asia Holdings which he joined in 1974.

Mr Sandrasegara is currently the managing partner of law firm WongPartnership. He has over 20 years of experience in the legal services sector, especially in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate law.

A trustee of the Singapore Management University and the Singapore Institute of Technology, he also serves as a member of the Corporate Governance Council established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore as well as on the boards of a number of other private and publicly listed companies.
