SEI Investments appoints new head of South African operations

SEI Investments has appointed Giles Mokoka as managing director and head of its South African operations based in Johannesburg.

Mokoka will report to Patrick Disney, managing director of SEI’s Institutional Group in the EMEA region.

Mokoka is joining SEI after establishing his own consulting business working with boutique asset managers.

Prior to starting the consulting business, Mokoka was involved in new business development at RMB Asset Management, where he was responsible for managing consultant relationships and growing RMB’s institutional business.

Mokoka’s career in institutional asset management also includes both business development and sales roles at Old Mutual Asset Management and experience in servicing institutional clients within Investec Asset Management’s fund management team based in Cape Town.

Disney said that he is delighted to welcome Giles to SEI. He brings significant institutional asset management experience to the role and he looks forward to working with him to build business in the region.
