UK-based Sainsbury's Finance has partnered with internet and PC security specialist Prevx to protect its 1.4 million customers from online fraud.

Sainsbury’s Finance has joined Prevx SafeOnline Partner Programme, that will help the bank in mitigating the risk of online fraud attacks such as phishing, DNS poisoning, screen grabbing, man-in-the-browser and keystroke logging.

Prevx said Sainsbury’s online banking customers can download the Prevx SafeOnline technology to protect personal information, including passwords and payment card details. In addition, Sainsbury’s Finance customers will receive information educating them about the importance of securing their online lifestyles.

Prevx claims that its SafeOnline solution is designed to let customers browse the internet securely and helps by alerting online customers of threats to their PC.

Stuart McKeggie, head of credit cards at Sainsbury’s Finance, said: “As a leading supermarket bank serving the needs of consumers up and down the country, we feel we have a duty to ensure people know how to stay safe when servicing their credit card and savings accounts online.”
