PIMCO, a US-based investment management firm, has appointed Kristofer Kraus as an executive vice president based in the firm's New York office.

Mr Kraus will be responsible for new business development and relationship management for PIMCO Advisory, which provides strategic investment advice and customized services including the valuation, monitoring and liquidation of complex assets and portfolios, drawing on the full resources of PIMCO to deliver independent analysis, execution and customized solutions for a range of public and private institutions.

Prior to this Mr Kraus was a managing director at Barclays Capital, where he oversaw trading, structuring and sales for the firm’s collateralized debt obligation and structured funds business. He was previously with Credit Suisse First Boston, focusing on structured products, mortgage-backed securities derivatives and loan funds.
