New Century Bank, a Pennsylvania-based bank, has changed its name to Customers 1st Bank, effective from April 26, 2010.

Customers 1st Bank plans to open four new branch offices in Berks and Bucks Counties in Pennsylvania and in Mercer County in New Jersey, over the coming months. Currently, Customers 1st Bank at March 31, 2010 is a $500m asset commercial bank presently operating five banking and commercial lending offices in Chester and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania.

Richard Ehst, president and chief operating officer of Customers 1st Bank, said: “We are ardent about changing what a customer can expect from a bank and for this reason are changing our name to better reflect that philosophy.”

Warren Taylor, executive vice president and president of community banking for Customers 1st Bank, said: “The new name reflects our passion to provide an entirely new level of high tech, high touch banking convenience and customized service to our customers. This includes unrivaled benefits such as ‘appointment and concierge banking’ available 12 hours a day and 7 days a week, individualized financial packages, advanced online banking tools including opening accounts on-line and direct access to senior management. We are not a new bank, we are about a new way of banking.”

Moreover, Customers 1st Bank also expects the new name to become its legal name upon completion of its pending holding company reorganization.
