Moelis & Company, a US based investment bank, has appointed Guillermo Garcia as a new managing director based in London. He will be a member of the firm's global Financial Institutions Group (FIG).

Garcia will have a particular focus on advising clients in the banks sector throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

According to the Moelis, Garcia will enhance the firm’s global FIG capabilities, working closely with FIG managing directors Caroline Silver in London and John Binnie and John Sipp in New York.

Garcia will join Moelis from Richmond Park Partners (RPP), where he served as a partner and head of the Financial Institutions Group. He joined RPP in 2009 from Barclays where he was global head of corporate development.

Prior to Barclays, he spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs in various roles, most recently as a managing director in the Financial Institutions Group.

Moelis & Company head of EMEA Investment Banking Mark Aedy said that building out European FIG capabilities remains a significant focus for the company. FIG represents one of the most important markets and Guillermo adds critical breadth and depth to the FIG franchise globally.
