Maybank has signed an agreement worth RM20 million with key systems and solutions providers to implement an improved cards network to enhance its payment services for merchants and cardholders.

The upgrade will be carried out by Telekom Malaysia, CSC Computer Sciences and StrataSoft.

The exercise involves implementation of a new network architecture using a dedicated IP-VPN network which Telekom Malaysia will undertake. New merchants and those using the current analogue lease-line network will immediately migrate to the IP-VPN infrastructure scheduled for completion by end October 2006. CSC will undertake to implement and manage this new network to ensure high availability.

Concurrently, Maybank will implement ACI Worldwide’s ‘ASE24-es’ solution to be undertaken by StrataSoft to ensure the system deliver uninterrupted service anytime even with scheduled housekeeping activities.

This significant undertaking will establish a new network infrastructure and an integrated payment system specifically dedicated for our card business operations to address the growing needs of our customers as well as meet the future growth programs of our merchants and Maybankard, said Datuk Johar, COO of Maybank.
