Macquarie Group, a provider of investment banking and financial services, has appointed Nicholas Moore, currently the head of Macquarie Capital, as managing director and CEO of the group effective May 24, 2008.
The chairman of Macquarie Group Limited, David Clarke said that Mr Moore was the obvious choice to succeed the group’s current managing director and CEO, Allan Moss who has served in that position for almost 15 years. Mr Moss’ retirement becomes effective on May 24, 2008.
Mr Clarke added: Nicholas has led the development of our Macquarie Capital business which provides more than 50% of the group’s profits. He is globally recognized as a leading financial services leader and is ideally qualified to take Macquarie’s global businesses to the next stage of their development. The board regards Nicholas as a leader of remarkable vision, energy and acumen.
