JMP Group, an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that JMP Securities has entered into an agreement with RCS Capital.

Based on this agreement, JMP Securities will have the capacity to distribute initial public offerings and other securities offerings to more than two million retail brokerage customers through RCS Capital’s network of more than 9,700 financial advisors, vastly increasing JMP Securities’ access to retail investors.

"We are very pleased to work with RCS Capital Corporation, a growing and highly regarded provider of financial services to the retail investor," said Carter Mack, president of JMP Group. "We believe that this agreement will be of great value to our corporate clients who turn to us for underwriting services, while also providing RCS Capital’s retail brokerage customers with the opportunity to participate in JMP Securities’ future offerings."

"This relationship, in which JMP Securities joins forces with the industry’s leading independent broker-dealer network, complements our institutional equities platform and will benefit our investment banking clients by granting them access to a tremendous number of retail investors, enabling issuers to capture incremental demand from an important segment of the market," said Kent Ledbetter, JMP Securities’ director of investment banking.

Founded in 2000, JMP Securities is a full-service, middle-market investment bank with a focus on four broad sectors of the economy: technology, healthcare, financial services and real estate. In 2013, JMP Securities executed 171 capital raising and strategic advisory transactions with an aggregate value of $28.5 billion, including 33 IPOs; in 2014 to date, the firm has completed 132 transactions with a total value of $24.6 billion, including 35 IPOs.
