Jefferies, a securities and investment banking firm, has hired Kamlesh Bhatia as a new managing director responsible for private placement origination within the firm’s equity capital markets group.

Mr Bhatia brings to Jefferies more than 10 years of investment banking experience, including five years in the equity capital market groups at Piper Jaffray and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Prior to this, Mr Bhatia spent four years in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston.
