Janney Montgomery Scott, a full-service wealth management, financial services and investment banking firm, has appointed Robert Thielmann as chief information officer, senior vice president and member of the firm's management committee.

Mr Thielmann will lead Janney’s information technology organization that manages critical systems supporting the company’s private client and capital markets groups, investment banking, compliance and operations efforts, as well as enterprise systems and applications for all corporate processes.

Most recently, Mr Thielmann served as senior vice president and divisional chief information officer at AIG, with technology responsibility for all broker-dealer and mutual fund services.
