ING Groep's retail banking arm ING Direct has joined Allpoint, a US-wide network of 32,000 surcharge-free ATMs. This gives ING Direct's customer base unlimited access to the system, which is located at retailers such as Target and Costco across all 50 states.

Ben Psillas, president of Allpoint Network, commented: Unlike traditional brick and mortar banks which tend to have high overhead costs, ING Direct passes on savings to its customers by doing business online and over the phone. Our nationwide footprint is a natural fit with ING Direct.

Jim Kelly, COO of ING Direct, added that joining the Allpoint network would continue the bank’s strategy of providing a simple and secure banking experience, as well as allowing its customers to save money.
