Hudson Securities has said that it will be extending its reach in institutional sales and trading by opening a Boston office on 3 January 2011.

Hudson Securities has hired Edward Salmon, Sean Silvia and Donald Scammell, each with over 25 years of experience and extensive relationships in the Boston community to manage its new office.

Salmon and Silvia join Hudson from Jefferies & Co, where they served as senior vice presidents in Equity Sales & Trading.

Scammell was previously a managing director at Raymond James Financial, where his responsibilities included developing institutional relationships in the Boston region.

Hudson said Blaine Carroll, senior communications equipment research analyst, will also be based out of the Boston office.

Hudson Securities CEO Anthony Sanfilippo said Hudson continues to expand its footprint as it create a sustainable, growth oriented firm with the scale to compete effectively in the markets the firm serve.

"We are delighted that we were able to attract such seasoned, industry veterans to our team. The new office will enable Hudson to deliver a higher level of service to our institutional clients in the Boston area," Sanfilippo added.
