Fortis has announced the appointment of Maarten Pronk as country manager for Russia as it looks to develop its existing presence in the Russian market further.
Maarten Pronk, 51, was country bank manager for Rabobankn in Russia before taking up the role with Fortis. Mr Pronk has also been responsible for setting up ING’s operations in Moscow and is fluent in Russian as well as six other languages.
Fortis carries out merchant banking and trust activities in Russia, and is expanding its operations. Fortis Insurance International also has a small team in Moscow and is preparing for rollout in the Russian insurance sector.
