First Internet Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indiana-based First Internet Bancorp, has expanded its lending services by entering into commercial lending, with focus on commercial real estate in central Indiana. The bank has appointed Michael Lewis as vice president to lead the new line of business.

Mr Lewis has 28 year of experience in Indianapolis commercial banking community. He held senior management positions throughout with responsibilities involved in all aspects of commercial lending. He has spent most of his career in the commercial real estate field.

David Becker, chairman and CEO of First Internet Bank, said: “The bank remains committed to offering a highly competitive, efficient residential mortgage and consumer lending program through its online channel.

“However, we see unmet demand for commercial loans in central Indiana. Mike Lewis’s proven track record in establishing and successfully growing commercial lending departments make him a great choice to lead this initiative.”
