First Data renews long-standing relationships with Lloyds TSB and Advanta

Electronic commerce and payment services provider First Data Corporation has renewed its processing agreement with Advanta Bank Corporation in the US, while, over in the UK, its First Data International division has renewed a major processing agreement with Lloyds TSB.

Advanta Bank has been a client of First Data since 1996. Under the terms of the long-term contract extension, First Data will continue to provide comprehensive small business credit card processing services, including transaction processing and fraud services, for over one million Advanta customers.

Lloyds TSB, meanwhile, has been a First Data International client since 1991. First Data processes the bank’s UK credit card portfolio and provides a range of customer-facing and back office services. The new seven-year agreement, effective 2008, will include the conversion of the UK bank’s card portfolio to First Data’s VisionPLUS processing platform.

Colin Walsh, Lloyds TSB’s director of credit cards and operations in consumer banking, commented: We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with them and taking advantage of the extended consumer finance capabilities of the new platform.
