To oversee growing number of new opportunities emerging in the region

Fidelity International has appointed Arne Lindman president and CEO of Asia Pacific operations, reported Bloomberg. Based in Hong Kong, Mr Lindman will oversee the firm’s employees in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. He will report to Barry Bateman, vice chairman of Fidelity International.

Mr Lindman will replace Brett Goodin, who stepped down as president of Asia Pacific in May this year. Reportedly, since then, Thomas Balk, president of Fidelity Japan, has been interim president of the Firm. Mr Balk will continue to manage the operations until Mr Lindman commences.

He has over two decades of experience in asset management, and has been in Hong Kong for five years. He recently stepped down as the CEO of Prudential PLC’s Asian asset management business. Earlier, he was CEO of ABN Amro’s Asian asset management.

In a statement, Mr Bateman said: “Arne’s appointment will enable us to respond to a growing number of new opportunities we see emerging in Asia in the years to come,” reported the news agency.
