Western Union and Family Dollar, an operator of general merchandise retail discount stores in the US, have entered into an agreement to offer the Western Union goCASH service, a new US in-lane money transfer service from Western Union, across 6,500 Family Dollar store locations.

According to Western Union, with the goCASH service, consumers will have the option to select any of three send amounts $50; $100; and $200. A goCASH money transfer can be purchased for both domestic and international money transfers and be picked-up at any Western Union agent location around the world.

Once purchased in-lane, at a cash register, the sender will complete the transaction over the phone through a Western Union customer service representative and provide the money transfer information to the receiver.

Carter Hunt, senior vice president for global key accounts at Western Union, said: “Western Union sees the goCASH as an opportunity to strengthen both its relationship and value proposition with consumers seeking convenient options to manage their time, finances and money transfer needs.”

Robert Giles, divisional vice president at Family Dollar, said: “Providing value and convenience have been the cornerstone of our business for more than 50 years. Our relationship with Western Union reinforces that position and gives our customers another compelling reason to shop at Family Dollar.”
