ANZ Banking Group unit Esanda has made its entrance in the Australian savings market with the launch of a new product that its says will provide access to a savings account via telephone or the internet.

The release of the Online Saver is expected to enable Esanda to compete with Australia’s major banks which offer similar services.

Esanda says the project, which utilizes the Finacle universal banking service from IT firm Infosys, was rolled out across Queensland this month and will be launched across Australia later this year.

Esanda hopes the new service will attract 8500 customers in the first three months of the roll out.

The banking group added that they plan to fast track the implementation of further features using the Finacle software.
