Dutch investment bank ABN Amro has selected Equens, a European payment solutions company, to provide SEPA debit card processing services to the banking group.
Under the terms of the deal, Equens will provide the cards payment services for a duration of five years, effective from January 1, 2009.
Maarten Mol, corporate executive vice-president at ABN Amro, said, The choice for Equens as the payment processing partner to support ABN Amro in realizing its international card ambitions was based on the outstanding price/quality performance in combination with their proven and reliable professional track record in card processing payment services and partnering.
ABN Amro is the first client to select Equens to deliver SEPA card payment solutions. The partnership with Equen will enable a smooth transition to SEPA, allowing clients to benefit from arising market opportunities.
