Deutsche Bank has appointed Tim Baker as the new head of equity strategy in Australia.

Mr Baker has been a member of Deutsche Bank’s equity strategy team since April 2007 and has played a critical role in developing the strategic work undertaken by the team over the last three years. In particular, he was a key member of the equity strategy team that rated No 2 in the 2009 Peter Lee survey.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr Baker was an economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia for five years, providing analysis of domestic and overseas macroeconomic developments, as well as researching trends in selected industries.

Michael Ormaechea, head of global markets for Australia and New Zealand at Deutsche Bank, said: “Tim is highly regarded by clients and by the team here at Deutsche and his appointment demonstrates the depth of talent we have in our operation.”
