Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank, both members of the National Australia Group, have launched a new prepaid travel card in collaboration with PrePay Technologies.

The prepaid travel card will be available in three currencies – GBP sterling, the euro and the US dollar – to suit most popular travel destinations. Cardholders will receive a guaranteed exchange rate for the euro and the US dollar once the card is loaded, enabling the user to pre-plan and budget their holiday.

The card product can be used wherever Maestro is accepted, including over the internet. A cash withdrawal from ATMs displaying the Maestro, Cirrus or Mastercard sign is also enabled.

The launch of the new prepaid travel card is the latest in a series of innovations by the Clydesdale, Yorkshire and PrePay Techonologies partnership.

We are thrilled to be one of the first financial institutions in the UK to launch a prepaid travel card program and that the partnership with PrePay Technologies continues to deliver results, said Brent Skeffington, head of emerging business, direct banking of the National Australia Group.

The Prepaid Travel Card complements our existing product portfolios and removes some of the stress our customers experience whilst traveling. It will also help us build upon existing customer loyalty. We aim to extend this offering to a wider audience in the near future.
