Citigroup has named Cecelia Stewart as the new president of US Consumer and Commercial Banking.

Stewart will report to Manuel Medina-Mora, CEO of Consumer Banking for the Americas. She will oversee the bank’s US based Retail Banking, Personal Banking and Wealth Management, Commercial Banking and Small Business Banking businesses.

Stewart, who has more than 30 years of experience in the consumer banking industry, most recently, served as president of the Retail Banking group and CEO at Morgan Stanley Private Bank.

Stewart held a number of senior banking positions at Wachovia prior to joining Morgan Stanley.

In addition, Will Howle has been named as the COO for US Consumer and Commercial Banking, reporting to Stewart.

Howle has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and most recently he served as managing director and head of national sales for Morgan Stanley Private Bank.

Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit said that with many years of combined experience in the consumer banking industry, Stewart and Howle have the energy, the collaborative style and the customer focus to help drive the seamless execution of the group’s plans for our US consumer and commercial banking business.
