Citigroup has named Jud Linville as new CEO of Citi Cards, reporting to Manuel Medina-Mora, CEO of Consumer Banking for the Americas.

Linville will run Citi’s North America branded Cards business and work closely with the regional Cards heads.

Linville joins Citi from American Express, where he was president and CEO of US Consumer Services. During his 20-year career at American Express, he led a variety of business segments and held responsibility for all US cardmember, small business and merchant customer services.

Most recently, he oversaw the Consumer Card Group, Membership Rewards, the Consumer Travel Network and the Prepaid Services Group on a worldwide basis.

In conjunction, Citi has also announced the formation of a new Global Enterprise Payments business unit. The unit will be led by Paul Galant, who will be the CEO of Global Enterprise Payments.

Galant will oversee the design, marketing and implementation of business-to-consumer and consumer-to-business payments solutions. He will report to Medina-Mora and John Havens, CEO of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group.
