Citigroup has appointed Ziyad Akrouk as the CEO for its operations in Kuwait. He transfers from Citigroup Jordan where he was heading the bank's activities since 2005.

Mr Akrouk is a seasoned Citigroup professional having spent over 20 years in various posts within the region and abroad.

Prior to his Jordan position, Mr Akrouk held the post of regional risk manager for Citigroup’s corporate and investment banking (CIB) division based in Cairo, and assumed various responsibilities covering corporate banking, corporate finance and risk management in Poland, and earlier out of Bahrain serving the Gulf region.

Citigroup established its Kuwait operations in 2006, and currently offers full fledged corporate and investment banking services in the local market.
