Citibank has opened a new consumer-banking outlet in Gu-Bei, Shanghai, which will cater for the large expatriate community living in the area. The Gu Bei branch is Citibank's fifth in the Chinese city.

The team based at the branch will be fluent in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean, the bank said. The branch will include a CitiGold Service Center, a wealth management service and an express fund-transfer service.

Lee Ah-Boon, country business manager for Citibank China, said: We are delighted to be expanding our presence in Shanghai, and the opening of the Gu Bei sub-branch is very significant as we continue to get closer to the local communities in the cities in which we operate.
