Citibank announced a new agreement with Cardtronics to make available over 30,000 additional surcharge-free ATM locations in the US.

The ATM locations will be powered by the Allpoint Network, for Citibank customers in major metropolitan markets across the US, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

Citibank customers can now access ATMs surcharge-free at virtually all Costco, CVS/pharmacy, and Target retail locations. Additionally, surcharge-free ATM access is rolling out to Duane Reade stores and most Walgreens locations.

Citi US retail banking head Will Howle said: “By nearly doubling our network of surcharge-free ATMs, we’re making it even easier for Citibank customers to meet their banking needs on the go.

“From our enhanced product offerings and Citigold Client Centers and Smart Banking branches to expanding our ATM network and new digital capabilities, we are committed to delivering a higher level of value, convenience, service and expertise to our customers.”

Citibank customers are able to access essential banking services including withdrawing cash, checking their account balances, and transferring funds between primary linked accounts.

Citibank’s new agreement with Cardtronics includes surcharge-free access to Citibank-branded ATMs in most of the following retail locations:

  • Costco stores in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
  • CVS/pharmacy stores in Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco
  • Duane Reade stores in New York City
  • Target stores in New York and Washington D.C.
  • Walgreens stores in Chicago and New York (Rolling out through the spring.)

This announcement is the latest in a series of strategic actions to deliver a better customer experience, including enhanced account offerings for Citigold and Citi Priority clients, new Citigold Client Centers and Citi Smart Banking branches and enhanced mobile banking capabilities, including ATM/Debit Card PIN Reset and online debit card activation via mobile responsive browser.
