Poland-based Citi Handlowy has started providing banking services to the capital city of Warsaw.

The bank has won the public tender issued by the capital city in September 2007 and closed in November 2007. Under the agreement signed, the bank will manage all bank accounts of the capital city.

Slawomir Sikora, CEO of Citi Handlowy, said: We have at least two reasons to be happy with the fact that the capital city has chosen our bank. First of all, this is the most explicit evidence that our offer for the public sector is very attractive. And on the other hand, it is yet another example of the bank’s strong relations, not only in the area of business, but with the capital city for many years. After all, the legal name of our company, unchanged since 1870, is Bank Handlowy w Warszawie.
