Citi Commercial Cards has introduced global mobile alerts for cardholders and Program Administrators (PAs) in 66 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

With the new facility, Citi’s commercial cardholders across the globe can receive short message service (SMS) alerts or email alerts informing them about important activities, including when their statement is ready, their payment is due or past-due, and when a replacement card has been mailed to them, claims Citi.

The new system offers services in 15 languages and gives customers freedom to choose the time zone, day and hour when they would like to receive their alerts, said the US based lender.

With the introduction of the latest service globaly, Citi Commercial Cards has launched five new alerts for participating US organizations, of which two are real-time and the remaining three are subscription alerts.

Citi’s global head of Commercial Cards Manish Kohli said, "The expansion of SMS alerts to 66 countries around the world allows cardholders from Austria to Thailand and many points in between to benefit from this convenient communication tool, in their choice of language.

"The alerts remind cardholders when their statements are ready, when a payment is due, which may help them avoid any potential late fees."
