Charter Bank, an affiliate company of Boston Private Financial Holdings (BPFH), is set to change its name to Charter Private Bank in keeping with the transition from a singularly-focused community bank to a locally-based private banking enterprise providing comprehensive financial services targeting individuals, families and their businesses in the greater Puget Sound area.

Jim Garvey, president and CEO of Charter, said: “We have always been a relationship bank but with the addition of services including our private banking suite, mortgage, and mobile banking, the bank is able to strengthen and broaden its relationship with our clients more than ever before.

“Our name change is a reflection and a direct result of the exceptional client service we provide and continues our focused effort to expand and deepen our individual and business clients’ relationships. This effort will help our clients achieve their financial goals while maintaining our enduring commitment to this community.

“There are excellent immediate and long-term prospects in the Puget Sound marketplace for the kind of personalized, relationship-centered private and business banking services that Charter Private offers. Working together with the talent we have in place throughout the bank, we will focus on continuing to provide outstanding service to our individual customers and our business clients while realizing additional opportunities for future growth.”
