BNP Paribas Corporate & Investment Banking (BNP Paribas CIB) has appointed Laure Morsy as new global head of the Financial Institutions Group (FIG).

Morsy began her career in internal audit and then in risk control and risk management functions.

She then specialised in financial institution client coverage, first at Société Generale and then at BNP Paribas where she was most recently in charge of the FIG International team.

BNP Paribas CIB has reinforced its financial institutions coverage and placed it under the responsibility of Thierry Varene, a member of the Corporate & Investment Banking executive committee and in charge of Investment Banking Europe (IBE) and Corporate Finance.

Frederic Legmann is named as the new head of the FIG IBE team of managing directors dedicated to strategic clients across seven key European markets, as part of reinforcing a relationship-driven approach and positioning BNP Paribas as strategic banking and advisory partner.

Legmann spent most of his career between Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs before joining Lehman Brothers. He was most recently served as a managing director at Lazard.
