BNP Paribas Corporate and Investment Banking, a division of BNP Paribas, has made several appointments in its prime brokerage business in North America.

BNP Paribas’ prime brokerage capital introduction group offers individualized service to hedge fund clients as well as numerous opportunities to meet institutional investors. The team provides intelligent introductions and various activities and events with a focus on pension funds, foundations, endowments, consultants, fund of funds and family offices.

Jeffrey Mettel has joined the capital introduction team as a director in New York and Afi Lowery, also a director, moves to manage the capital introduction effort for the Southwest region based in Dallas, Texas. Both will report to Emma Sugarman, head of capital introduction, Americas.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr Mettel was co-founder of Muirfield Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds. Before Muirfield, he spent several years in investment banking for firms including Prudential Securities and the Jordan, Edmidton Group.

Ms Lowery has been with the BNP Paribas prime brokerage team since 2000 as a director. Previously she held positions for Nynext and a Hedge Fund in Atlanta.
