Bling Nation, a US-based provider of mobile payments services to financial institutions, has appointed Shan Mehta as its new head of strategic alliance.

Mr Mehta will lead Bling Nation’s strategic alliances and focus on the development of prospective strategic partnerships for the company. He will be also responsible for maintaining and expanding existing relationships.

Mr Mehta was the owner of Detroit-based Evigna, a promotional merchandise distribution company serving brands such as GE, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Ford Motor Company and HBO.

Prior to Evigna, Mr Mehta served as an analyst for New York-based Princes Gate Investors, a Morgan Stanley private equity fund, where he focused on venture investments in enterprise software, storage and semiconductor companies.

He also worked as an investment associate at Chicago-based GTCR, a private equity firm, where he evaluated potential investments in software and service companies, and is a partner at CITG Capital Partners, an investment firm based in Michigan.

Meyer Malka, founder, co-CEO and director of Bling Nation, said: “As Bling Nation expands our strategic relationships nationally, we are looking to align with organizations that enable a rich payment experience for consumers, businesses and financial institutions. The addition of Shan positions Bling Nation to bring on future partners who share our goal of delivering innovation and value to communities.”
