Bling Nation, a US-based provider of mobile payment services, has appointed Matthew Murphy as general manager for the newly formed Pacific region.

Mr Murphy will lead Bling Nation’s outreach efforts to financial institutions and businesses. In his most recent position, he served as vice president of marketing for Chegg.com, an online textbook rental company where he directed all marketing and awareness efforts.

Prior to Chegg, Mr Murphy was the director of product management for Ask.com, overseeing Ask Mobile, Ask News, Ask Kids, Ask Deals and new search opportunities for the company. He also held an executive position at Learn2Grow.com, a green eLearning website, where he lead web initiatives as the vice president of product development.

Mr Murphy also served as a senior manager of advertising and media at brokerage firm E*Trade Financial.
