Barclays Wealth has appointed Cem Pensoy as a senior banker and head of the London Turkey team reporting into Henry Fischel-Bock, head of international private bank, London and Esra Turk, head of Turkey.

Mr Pensoy, who will be based in London, will work to grow and develop the Turkish business for the international private bank. He is joining Barclays Wealth from Union Bancaire Privee where he spent nine years working in Geneva and London as vice president and member of the management team.

Prior to this, Mr Pensoy worked at General Finance Securities Corporation in Istanbul for five years where he was a member of the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) focusing on brokerage, corporate finance, research and asset management.

Mr Fischel-Bock, said: "The appointment of Cem is indicative of our commitment to growing our business in Turkey. With his international background and experience of the marketplace we are confident that Cem is well placed to further to build new client relationships in the region and drive the business forward."
