A study by security firm Thales reveals that UK banks now consider identity theft their most pressing security issue.

Of those asked, 73% of respondents said that identity theft through phishing attacks and other methods were their chief concern. According to the survey, 64% of banks were worried about the integrity of data while 45% were principally worried about the security of their network.

The study also revealed that 64% of UK banks are either receiving or require an immediate upgrade to their security systems. Furthermore, all the UK banks polled said that they plan to upgrade these systems within the next two years.
