Bank of Scotland is planning to open a flagship new branch in Aberdeen city centre in mid 2008, subject to planning permission.

Two existing city centre branches – at 501 Union Street and unit six of the Bon Accord centre – will close. All 30 colleagues currently employed at the existing branches will have a role in the new branch. The bank currently has 12 branches in Aberdeen.

Ken Lynch, Scotland East Regional Sales Manager, said: Aberdeen is a critical area for Bank of Scotland. This is a great opportunity for us to grow our business in the area, and also about providing both improved levels of service to our customers and a better working environment for our colleagues.
