Bank of Ireland 365, the Bank of Ireland's telephone and online banking service, has launched a new facility for its online banking customers that enables them to view and apply for a range of lending products for which they have been pre-approved. This is the first time any bank in Ireland has delivered pre-approved lending through its online banking channel.

Approximately 60% of Bank of Ireland’s current account holders are automatically pre-approved for the new online services. When any of these registered and pre-approved customers go to www.365online.com they will be able to view exactly which products they have been pre-approved for and make a loan application 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Eddie Ryan, head of marketing for Bank of Ireland Personal Lending, commented:
By offering this new facility for our online customers we have substantially enhanced access to our products and satisfied a real customer need. A growing proportion of our customers are conducting their banking online and the numbers using the facility have grown by 40% in the last year alone.

Bank of Ireland launched its 365 service in 1996, delivering Ireland’s first telephone banking system. Online banking was introduced in 1997 and currently has 434,000 registered customers. Today the business provides customers with transaction/payment services and financial products via phone, online and via their ATM network.
